has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-e05ed0e3c3936d1405b477735b6b941c\" style=\"color:#045a57\">I hail from a small town called Agartala in northeast India. I grew up in a Bengali-speaking community surrounded by 19 tribal groups from Tripura, India. The strong relationships I developed with my peers during my school years are still something I treasure greatly. I completed my schooling from <a href=\"http:\/\/rkmv.edu.in\/\" title=\"AISSCE\">Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Amtali (Agartala, Tripura, India)<\/a>, securing a 91.4% in the higher or senior secondary education exam (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_India_Senior_School_Certificate_Examination\" title=\"AISSCE\">AISSCE<\/a>) held by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbse.gov.in\/\" title=\"CBSE\">CBSE<\/a>, India. After finishing my schooling (2011), I joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nita.ac.in\/Department\/DisplayDeptPage.aspx?page=ce&amp;ItemID=gaa&amp;nDeptID=caasc\" title=\"Electrical Engineering undergraduate program\">Electrical Engineering undergraduate program<\/a> at one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Institute_of_National_Importance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"CBSE\">Institute of National Importance<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Institute_of_Technology_Agartala\" title=\"National Institute of Technology, Agartala. \">National Institute of Technology, Agartala.<\/a> Here, I was exposed to Photonics as an open elective in the 7th Semester of the program. It instantly captivated my interest, which led me to focus my B.Tech final project on non-linear optics. After completion of B.Tech in 2015, and securing a CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) of 9.00\/10.00, I made up my mind to go for higher studies and joined the prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iitk.ac.in\/mse\/phd#:~:text=B.,%2Fadmission%2Dcriteria.php.\" title=\"Direct Ph.D. program\">Direct Ph.D. program<\/a> in one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IIT_Kanpur\" title=\"premire and prestigious institutes of India\">premire and prestigious institutes of India<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iitk.ac.in\/\" title=\"IIT Kanpur\">IIT Kanpur<\/a>.  I developed a scalable fabrication technique for photonic elements using colloidal nanoparticles during my Ph.D. research period, under the guidance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iitk.ac.in\/new\/shilpi-gupta\" title=\"Dr. Shilpi Gupta\">Dr. Shilpi Gupta<\/a>. Although my experiments and research work was halted and delayed several times due to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COVID-19\" title=\"COVID-19\">COVID-19<\/a>, I was able to complete my Ph.D. by 2022.  After my Ph.D., I joined <a href=\"https:\/\/iisc.ac.in\/\" title=\"IISc Bangalore\">IISc Bangalore<\/a>, as a post-doctoral researcher where I have currently been involved in developing sensors based on 2D TMDs, graphene, and Plasmonic structures, under the supervision of <a href=\"http:\/\/iap.iisc.ac.in\/~abha\/\" title=\"Professor Abha Misra\">Professor Abha Misra<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-white-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-cc1988590fa32df3c623584dc8315470\" style=\"color:#045a57\">In my free time I like to paint, write, and travel to remote locations carrying a camera. My father, now a retired bank manager, used to get Leave Travel Concession (LTC) during his active years.
